The University of New Hampshire 家长委员会 exists to forge connections 和 advance initiatives in support of student success on campus 和 after graduation while “friendraising” to help keep the University of New Hampshire strong 和 growing.

- Ease the transition to UNH for incoming students 和 their 父母/guardians through welcome events 和 information sharing.
- Add value to the student experience through grants, 奖, the Undergraduate 研究 Conference, select advocacy initiatives 和 participation in career networking.
- Forge connections 和 help provide opportunities to solidify bonds between 父母, their students 和 the many facets of UNH on 和 off campus (through 家庭周末, 社交媒体, off campus UNH gatherings, 等.).
What is the 家长委员会?
When your student chose to attend the University of New Hampshire, they became members of the UNH Family—its traditions, 成就, 校友, 政府, faculty 和 students. As their champion 和 chief supporter, so did you.
The 家长委员会 gives 父母 an opportunity to be more involved in advancing student success at UNH.

Focused on helping to maximize student success in a variety of ways, the UNH 家长委员会 is dedicated to building 和 maintaining positive connections between 父母, students 和 UNH while keeping 父母 informed 和 giving them a voice on campus.
It is also your chance to gain an insider’s view of the University 和 the people who shape your student’s education 和 experiences while developing deeper bonds with the school, your fellow 父母, students 和 the resources 和 staff who help advance student success.
我们所做的
The 家长委员会 meets on campus four times each year*. Meeting agendas include discussion, planning, informative speakers from campus groups such as the Career 和 Professional Success, University Advising Center, 健康 & 健康 和 校园娱乐 和 “field trips” to various locations on campus.
Each 家长委员会 member serves on at least one of the following st和ing committees 和 participates on conference calls as needed to complete committee initiatives between meetings.
- 校园 Connections: Facilitating 和 organizing volunteer opportunities at key events including Admitted Student Visit Days, 未经批准的天, 入学, 取向, 和 Fall Open House.
- Communications 和 Social Media: Serve as editorial advisors for 父母 e-新sletter 和 assist 学生生活 领导 with website updates. Serve as administrators for the UNH 父母 Facebook page. Provide PR support 和 promotional materials on Council initiatives. Partner with UNH departments 和 organizations to host live stream 和 online events that benefit our Parent community (i.e 住房, Graduation, 体育运动, 校园 Safety)
- 家庭周末: Participate alongside the Office of 新学生 项目 in yearly planning 和 evaluation of 家庭周末. Includes organizing 家长委员会 members to volunteer at the event (setup 和 breakdown of programs 和 assisting with check-in) 和 collecting prize donations.
- Student Enrichment: Review 和 award student grant applications. Serve as judges in the Undergraduate 研究 Conference. Assist with supporting basic needs initiatives including food donations for food pantries at Durham 和 Manchester campuses.
